Contextual Advertising - Definition
In the Google AdSense and Google AdWords programs, Contextual Advertising refers to how Google leverages their award-winning search technology to deliver relevant ads to content pages of web sites and web products in their advertising network. This technology draws upon Google’s understanding of the billions of web pages in their search index and Google’s ability to crawl web pages to figure out which keywords would lead a user to the web page. They then match ads to the page based on those keywords.
