DNS Lookup - Definition
DNS Lookup is the process of converting a unique Internet Protocol (IP) address (of a site visitor) into a text name (domain name). DNS Lookup is often used in site statistics software to analyze server log files. For example, the IP address: 192.0.34.166 is converted to www.example.com.
