Frame Rate - Definition
Frame Rate Motion pictures (whether recorded by film or video) generally function by depicting a series of still-frame images in sequence. As the action within the still-frame picture switches positioning from frame to frame, the illusion of motion throughout the series of frames will be achieved. However, this technique of showing motion through the use of still-images is more effective the faster the sequence of images is displayed. The speed at which the images appear in sequence is known as the frame rate.
