Hidden Text - Definition
Hidden Text is a very frowned upon method employed in order to increase keyword targeting and to gain a better ranking with the Search Engines. The hidden text itself is placed within the body of the web page so that users cannot see it, but the search engine spiders can. For instance, if the background color of a web page is white, then these users will assign a white font color to the text so that it exactly matches the background color and remains hidden. Google now tracks hidden text usage and will penalize the site.
