Query Variable - Definition
A Query Variable is the VARIABLE portion of the VARIABLE=VALUE pair that makes up a Query Parameter. For instance, when a user enters and submits their search terms into a search engine, the Variables will then store this information for a web page to use. For example, when a user searches Google for “book”, the resulting URL is: http://www.google.com/search?q=book In this example, the query variable is q.
