Unique Visitors - Definition
Unique Visitors refers to number of individual people who have visited a Web site (or network) within a designated reporting time frame, typically a 30 day period. Each individual is counted only once in the unique visitor measure for the reporting period. Web hosting companies usually provide their users with a visual way of viewing web site traffic and often calculate unique visitors based on IP address information found in the log files, and sometimes through cookies. However, many factors are taken into consideration.
