URL - Definition
URL is an abbreviation for Uniform Resource Locator. It is the address or location of a web page or file on the Internet. For example, http://www.googlehelpdesk.com is our web site URL. One could say a URL is what a street address is to a house or a telephone number is to a telephone. As web site URLs are sometimes long, browsers allow you to bookmark or save the locations of sites you would like to return to.
