WHOIS - Definition
WHOIS refers to an internet search utility that returns ownership information about a domain name or an IP Address. If you enter a domain name in a WHOIS search engine, it will search through a huge database of domains and return back information on the order of: name and address of the registrant, administrative contact, technical contact, billing contact, creation date, expiration date and where the domain is hosted.
